As an established trading community group, we, Trading Network @ TF2 uses varied methods to estimate an item's price and provide to all who wonder.

First, we will collect the price within trading servers in almost daily basics.
Second, we will actually test an item's performance and add or deduct its value accordingly.
Third, we will conduct actual trade and estimate prices according to success rate and pricing possible range.
Fourth, we will conduct maximum price estimation if store prices apply in certain situations.
Last, we will browse in all kinds of forums for specific doubtful items.

As you can see, we have used varied techniques to ensure certain items are within a reasonable price range and approximate them as close to reality as possible.

There will NEVER be a fix price for an item, we ensure you that, our dear TF2 traders.

Btw, just let you know that certain spreadsheet site has quietly adopted our price ranging technique. :)
